Honoré Paris Collection #4 preview @ Robinsons VIP lounge

Honoré Paris launched its fourth collection preview exclusively at the comfort of the Robinsons VIP lounge; and this could very much be its best one yet; judging from the enthusiastic turnout of media guests, bloggers and guests alike. Designer Axelle Oran looking lovely as usual (despite rushing off a plane), was there as well to share with us her thoughts on the collection and what she has been busy with since we last met.

With new styles, new fabrics and more than 50 pieces, Collection #4 is undoubtedly Honoré Paris’ largest Collection to date. Collection #4 consists of basic pieces with a slight rock and roll twist and French insouciance; but expect new materials and refreshing silhouettes to the equation.

For example; the incorporation of a linen and cotton blend on their previous collection's Georges Jacket, which gives it a slightly heavier and stronger texture feel that's perfect for it. I spied with my little eyes its signature shirt-dresses made fresh with Tunisian necklines; as well as printed raglan tops and some grunge-chic throwover tops.

Axelle explains; " Also, we have also decided to branch into the use of synthetic blends (Rayon and Cupro) because their textural qualities cannot be replicated using natural fibers.  Rayon comes off as an ultra-light and breathable fabric even more so than cotton sometimes."

Furthermore, 10 never before seen styles have just been added. Justine (Axelle's favourite and arguably the iconic piece of the collection) is a fun take on the 1960s shift dress thats seen a  modern, preppy update with a quirky heart print and collar.

Of course, how could I attend a Honoré Paris event wearing anything other than the brand itself! I've got this from their earlier collection, the Trait D'Union dress which features a drop waist, breathable chiffon material and a zig zag pattern that makes me happy just looking at it. Axelle (pictured next to me) is also wearing a floral piece from the new collection. Thanks for the dress!

Axelle reiterates her need for functionality and easy to wear in her collection, as she continues: "As with every collection, the concept remains the same. I observe women going about their daily lives and the goal is to produce casual and reliable clothes with a touch of fun and an element of Parisian Chic that will become their wardrobe staples. A hands-free option. Where the silhouette permits, most of our dresses and skirts come with deep pockets at the side, angled in such a way so that loose change will not fall out."

Here are sneak peeks of some designs to expect before they hit the racks at various Honoré Paris outlets (Robinsons Orchards, Tangs Plaza, Rockstar by Soon Lee). I absolutely love the denim shirt dress below!

Collection 4 will be available starting from Mid-may and pieces are priced from $169 for a cotton dress to $229 for a cupro dress, $99 for a cotton / linen blend top to $149 for a rayon shirt, $109 for a cotton skirt to $119 for a rayon skirt. PS: exciting news, do look out for them at Blueprint Emporium 2014, coming soon from 16 - 18 May!

As always, do check out their facebook and instagram for the latest updates and arrivals!
