Hosted by radio deejay Shan Wee, the evening got of to a fun start. Contestants took to the stage, and got into the hot seat when they were respectively grilled by Shan. Surprising secrets and funny answers spilled up causing much laughter as the night counted down to 10 finalist in the running for the title.
I'm sorry but this is where I take a moment to shamelessly plug about my good friend Rynna, whose one of the contestants! She was my colleague back in the SPH magazine days and I can tell you she was probably one of the most hardworking temps I had every had. Was a joy to work with her and such immense pride I had seeing her strut her stuff on stage. I think I must have got some weird stares being the only one screaming like a mad woman from the VIP area. :P
Doesn't she look every bit a rocker chick superstar?! |
When supporters and party-goers weren't screaming their voices hoarse, they grooved to the tunes of a local rock band act (sorry, could not remember the name!). Candy catering company Jo and Jars provided a cute buffet spread of confectionery that was almost too cute to be eaten: cake-lollipops, chocolate fondue and earl-grey macarons!
I was so happy to met up with quite a number of ex-colleagues and familiar faces, and good to see that despite being apart, the friendship still holds strong. Bumped into Azawi my fashionista friend, whom I think has possibly one of the most awesome killer wardrobes and just a sweetheart through and through.
I was just abit surprised at the guy choice though, considering the other male finalists had quite a strong (and albeit really LOUD) supporters. Both winners walked away with a huge load of prizes from TUFT, Macadamia, Kiehls, MAC and many more! Gosh, lucky you!
One last look at the GORGEOUS bunch, with smiles and new formed friendships in the air :)
Are you guys inspired to join the next year's competition? Until next year....
Thanks for the invite, Female!
