Launch + Review: Elizabeth Arden's Summer Escape Collection

Its been a hectic blur since I started my new job, and I've been longing for that much-deserved holiday. But while I can't fulfill that, Elizabeth Arden's Summer Escape makeup collection channels that dream escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, to the insouciant, relaxed light-hearted vibes of your favourite sailboat getaway! Inspired by the ocean water, soft salty breezes, sun-filled days and beautiful, golden sunsets; the collection features an assortment of sandy neutrals and vivid maritime hues to achieve(fake) that post-holiday glow...

The workshop was held in a cozy of Mandarin Gallery Hotel, where I met some new and familiar blogging faces. While it was my first Elizabeth Arden event, it certainly impressed me with their level of meticulousness in each detail. Presiding the event was their Australian International Makeup Artist Stephen Garett who gave us the lowdown on this season's trending look.

Stephen works his magic on the brand's PR manager, Joey to give her an all too irresistible evening look that's perfect to hit the clubs. Attention is drawn to eyes, with pencil-lined for the top lid, and a dash of shimmer on the lower lashes, before finishing with a pretty pink hue for lips.

Was such a pleasure talking to Stephen about his thoughts on the new collection and he gave some really easy to follow application tips for my latest Bronzer fixation. Just look how good the man looks!  A mini contest was held to see who could create a unique look that best uses the Summer Escape collection...

Here are some of the items I used to create my ideal summery day look; and it consists of:
  • LIMITED EDITION Pure Finish Cool Radiance Highlighter ($59.00): A creamy highlighter stick to brighten up my complexion, and can also be used to add some rosy pearlescent color to eyes, cheeks and lips too!
  • Beautiful Color Gloss Stick ($26.00) in Coral reef: having the convenience of a lip pencil but with the rich color payoff of a lipstick with glossy shine in one mere application. The creamy feel is thanks to its mineral pigments and conditioners that hydrates the lips from chapping.

  • Pure Finish Cream Eye Shadow ($29.00) in Anchors Away
A cushiony and creamy bronze taupe eyeshadow that gave an almost air-brushed color to the eyelids. Glides on smoothly whether by brush or finger application. It contains Aloe and Vitamin E to soothe and protect the eye area.
  • Beautiful Color Define and Highlight Eyeliner Duo ($33.00) in Cast AwayDefine and highlight eyes with one convenient dual-ended pencil that features a deep shade to line the upper lash line with intense color, and a light complementary shade to illuminate the lower lash line. The blendable, high pigment colors glide on with smooth creamy application for comfortable wear.
  • SHADE Beautiful Color Lash Enhancing Mascara ($40.00)
Now this I became a recent convert of; although a pearlized brilliant blue, it was surprisingly wearable and gave my eyes a small dash of color to my pretty natural look. Its formula features a potent mix of peptides to give volume, curl and length to the lashes, and apparently is also clinically proven to enhance lash length, density and curl with continued use!

Beauty-fussing aside, we were also very lucky to be one of firsts to test out the Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude, a tinted foundation which looks to be a new favourite of mine. It promises to be lightweight, brightens and conceals, and even has an SPF factor that protects from our increasingly sweltering weather.

When swatched on hand:

Review: Ok can I just say how much I loveeeeeeee their elegant packaging? It totally adds a glam factor as it sits on my makeup table. My shade is Natural 05, which glides on to match my skintone seamlessly. The formula is extremely lightweight, feeling like a light moisturiser as I dabbed it over. My complexion looked brightened, thanks to its Hydro pigment color technology. While the coverage is light to medium, it does well to even out smaller blemishes and redness on the face, but you would still need to use a concealer and powder off to achieve a fully clear canvas. As I'm a combination skin type and this is a liquid foundation type, I did feel that it smudges off ever so slightly when blotting my face.

Thank you Elizabeth Arden for a lovely night to herald in the Spring Holiday mood!

  1. I love the formula for the Flawless Finish Perfectly Nude! It blends so seamlessly into skin. Amazing product. I can't believe Elizabeth Arden isn't more popular than it is right now.
