Launch + Review: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex II Serum & Cream

Set in the picturesque setting of the Singapore River, belies the secret of looking youthful. Nope, I'm not refering to the mystical Fountain of Youth but the next second best thing to it: Estee Lauder's launch of the Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum & Cream. As Estee Lauder's inhouse trainer Belda tells us, Light is Youth...and dark tired eye circles are an instant deal-breaker to a truly young-looking self.

I'm actually pretty new to this range, and was pretty psyched about trying a new eye product. After all, my puffy dark eye circles are one of my major beauty woes. And to be honest, I'm rather sheepish about only knowing about this star product now, which is raved by my fellow beauty bloggers.

The launch truly a rather novel experience, held on a unique 'floating pod' function room called Port of Call, inside the Fullerton Bay Hotel. Not only was the view spectacular and overlooking Marina Bay Sands and Art Science Museum, one can almost imagine that we were on a real boat with the slight moving turbulence of the room caused by rising tides!

Very lovely canapes by the Fullerton Bay
But what really sets this apart?

A quick introduction to its patented ChronoluxCB technology, a clock gene activation which helps to synchronise skin's night time repair process. This encourages catabolysis (I just find this such a cool word), skin's naturally occuring cellular purification process. However, as goes for many parts of the body, catabolysis process can also be hindered by free radicals caused by factors such as pollution, lack of sleep, etc. Using a combination of antioxidants such as Alkyl Guanine Transferase to reduce the appearance of damages caused by environmental assaults such as pollution and harsh UV rays.

The serum comes in a small brown bottle, and at half squeeze it dispenses a watery-like consistency. The beautiful thing about Estee Lauder products, is that you can mix it up with your regular concealer before application. For me personally, I like putting the serum for day , which feels next to nothing and actually primes my eye circles before I slather on my daily makeup base.

When applied:

The eye cream appears to be a gluey gel-creme texture, where being more heavy-duty I hence prefer to apply just before I sleep in the evening. I love putting this in the fridge before applying it, giving my eye area a refreshing pick-me-up. After a few weeks of usage, I am rather impressed that my eye area seems to be relatively brightened., giving me a more livened look. One thing I noticed, is where the delicate skin of my looked more supple, and thin veins around my undereye diminished visibly.

I would say a little goes a long way, and just a thin layer was enough to moisturise and cover my whole upper and lower eye area. When applied:

Since both products offers similar benefits, its not recommended to use both items together. You can however, layer the serum with another eyecream that gives a different benefit, like say the Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lifting Eye Cream. The Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex II Serum and Cream has definitely found a new fan in me and I would gladly repurchase this.

Here's to happy eyes.... Thank You Estee Lauder!
