Banishing those blemishes with Trilogy skincare

Sponsored Review

Now we all have our own holy-grail products we turn to when disaster strikes (read: breakouts), but here is a quiet cult beauty brand that I really need to help share the word. Trilogy, a true-blue organic skincare from New Zealand and that principally uses Rosehip oil in their products.I have long heard rave reviews about them, so I was delighted to be able to review 2 of its latest skincare additions: the Trilogy Mineral Radiance Mask and the Trilogy Control Gel.

But first, a quick introduction to Trilogy: It all began with the founders discovery of the beneficial properties of rosehip oil extract which had remarkable clinically proven results which promises to heal and rejuvenate skin problems such as wrinkles, scars marks and stretchmarks. But what really draws me to Trilogy is its brand philosophy that includes:
  • No animal testing
  • No synthetic fragrances and colours
  • No genetically modified ingredients
  • No petroleum derived products No silicone oils and derivatives
  • No irradiation of end products and botanical ingredients

The Trilogy Mineral Radiance Mask (60ml, $58) features a finely blended Kaolin Clay delivers instant radiance with a deep cleansing action. Native New Zealand pohutukawa (a red flower of the Mytrle Tree) extract tones and encourages skin rejuvenation; whilst its signature rosehip oil and evening primrose oil provides nourishment and moisturization at the same time, preventing skin from drying out which sometimes happens when harsh clay masks are used.

I love the smooth buttery texture of the mask, which spreads easily and doesn't create an uneven patch distribution when applied. Its rich enough such that about a 50c dollop is enough to go over my face, but yet feels lightweight. As I left it to dry for about 10 minutes, I could feel a very slight tightening sensation as it dries out but does not leave my face taut. It rinses off easily and I noticed that my face looks more clarified and bright, almost glowy (after weekly uses in 1 month)! Compared to my Glamglow Supermud mask, this was much more gentler so I use it religiously at the end of each week.

Now I am always on the look out for a great pimple solution as I'm prone to breakouts upon the slightest trigger: stress, periods, even change in diet. So this Trilogy Blemish Control Gel (15ml, $48) is came just at the right time. Containing a Salicylic Acid (willow bark extract) which clears congestion caused by grime from our environment, whereas the natural antibacterial Lemongrass and Mandarin help control breakouts and aid healing.

The gel has a runny kind of consistency, and carries a slight citrusy scent which I assume is due to the mandarin extract. The results work best when you have a super ripe pimple with the pus head showing out; although not instanteonous, I observed it takes about 3-4 days for the offending blemish to subside and slowly fade out. I especially appreciated how it does not dry out or flake my skin, but rather provide a small spot of hydration. It is fast absorbing, so I could easily proceed with my skincare or makeup after.

For organic skincare that really works, Trilogy is not one to be missed, take my word for it! The above mentioned products are currently retailing at all Beauty by Nature outlets and selected John Little stores.

Thank you Fusion Cosmetics for sending these over!
