Aussie Hospitality comes to Singapore: My Staycation @ Park Regis

Sponsored Staycation

It's been a mad busy half year since and I have been gunning for a staycation to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. So it came in great time when we received the invitation from Park Regis Singapore. Opened in 2010, it is part of the Staywell Hospitality Group, an independently owned hotel chain that  has more than 34 exciting properties in Australia and South East Asia.

Our check-in was fast and efficient, with the front desk was well organized with 3-4 staff on duty at any point of time. I was quite impressed especially that one of them was also fluent in Japanese enough to guide through a Japanese tourist easily through their mother tongue.

Are you excited as I am? Time to head in to find out...

Our room was lovely, just overlooking the picturesque pool side, with a bay window veranda that natural light filters in so you can sit and do some reading. Rooms are designed with ergonomics in mind (like the mini-fridge inbuilt within the washing area), so that everything is optimized for maximum comfort without taking up more space than needs.

The creative play of mirrors also helps to give the impression of a wider space, and the clean minimalist design makes it very cosy and welcoming.

Visitors like me can get to enjoy lazing in bed while surfing through the numerous cable TV channels on my 42" flat screen LCD TV (a luxury I indulge because I don't have it at home). Each room is also entitled to digital newspapers and complimentary wifi (which I actually considered decently fast), so blogging on the go was good for me!

Unlike some hotels which have rather scratchy sheets (trust me, if you have sensitive skin prone to eczema), Park Regis is meticulous in choosing only premium silky bedsheets with a luxurious 400 threadcount. When it came to the Zzzzs, I am happy to report an extremely comfy good night's sleep and the super fluffy pillows are love. The bed is plushy enough such that I actually do not wake up my man when shuffling at night to grab a glass of water.

The shower and toilet seat is actually separated, so you don't have to bear the stench when you significant other needs to use the loo. The toilet door reveals a rain shower head, so it's yay to luxurious bath time; alternatively they also have a  comb-like shower head if you prefer.

I would really have to commend on the sound-proofing quality of the rooms, because the room on my right actually housed a family with young children. As I was making my way back to my unit, the neighbouring door was ajar and I could hear the ruckus so I was inwardly groaning. Surprisingly once back in my room.... it was absolutely silent and peaceful. I could hear nary a single sound!

Touring the place abit, we found the gym studio which stocks state-of-art cardio and training machines so you do not have to break from your usual fitness regime. Plus, its conveniently facing the pool area so you can can simply cool off after that sweaty workout.

Tucked discreetly behind the waterfall feature is actually a cozy function room which you will realize is actually pillarless; meaning that it is possible to configure the room arrangement to best meet your corporate/personal requirements. The gentle rushing sounds of the waterfall and the large windows around actually it to a rustic, zen feel.

The next day, we started our morning slow by lazing at the pool side, where it was all bright and sunny. Plenty of sunbeds, it was no wonder it was always semi-packed with visitors trying to catch a tan. On one end you have a small jacuzzi spot if you don't feel like moving, and on the other end is the adult pool with a waterfall feature.

Well hello there.

Not only adding interested to the landscape, you can also position yourself under it to have the gushes of water massage your weary bones. And of course, take hilarious epic videos of you boyfriend doing a shampoo-commercial worthy video as I did:

Breakfast takes place in the lobby and gosh, was it a hearty meal. It's international cuisine features everything from local dishes liked fried beehoon noodles, to the western favourites like scrambled eggs and crispy bacon. Park Regis I reckon, has one of the more tastier breakfast servings than most of the hotels I've been to, and its rather quickly refilled so food remains fresh and piping hot.

My dish of the day! I especially loved the dimsum which is not commonly served in hotel breakfast offerings.

And I got a kick from the DIY noodle bar located at the far end of the dining area, where I got to make my very own Prawn Noodles, which was tasty albeit slightly salty.

My stay at Park Regis was coming to an end almost too soon but I'm definitely sure this is not the last...I think I know where I'm coming back for my anniversary. ;)

A big thank you to Park Regis and Chloe/Jacqueline for extending the kind invitation; the warm Aussie hospitality was really felt here, almost like a home away from home. So if you are looking for a comfortable stay while in Singapore, or a staycation near Singapore's hottest nightlife spots...look no further than Park Regis Singapore.
